Public Notice – Help Name Our Truck

The Township of Addington Highlands Roads Department has a new truck, and we need your help to name it!
From June 2nd to 30th, we invite residents to submit their creative name ideas for our newest truck. When the winning name is chosen, a photo will be taken with the winner and a decal with the winning name will be put on the truck.
How to participate:
Email your entry to senioradmin@addingtonhighlands.ca during the entry window with the subject line: Truck Name Contest.
Please include in your email:
Proposed truck name
Your full name
Optional: A short sentence on why you chose the name
The winning name will be chosen on July 8th, and the winner will be notified via email and invited to have their photo taken. The winning name and a photo with the winner will then be shared via Facebook.
Contest Rules:
To keep things fun, fair, and family-friendly:
Eligibility: Open to Addington Highlands residents.
Deadline: Entries must be submitted during the entry window to be considered.
One entry per person. If multiple emails are received, only the first eligible entry will be considered.
Original & appropriate: Names must be original, creative, and reflect community spirit.
No restricted content: Entries that are offensive, unsafe, infringe on copyright/trademarks, or closely duplicate an earlier received entry will not be considered.
Judging: The winning name will be chosen by Council based on creativity, originality, and fit for the new vehicle. In the event of similar submissions, the earliest eligible email received will take precedence.
Winner notification: The winner will be contacted by the email address used to submit the entry and invited to have their photo taken with the truck.
Publicity: By entering, you consent that the Township may publicly share the selected name and the winner’s name and photo in Township communications, and a decal with the winning name will be put on the truck.
Privacy: Email addresses are collected solely to administer this contest and contact the winner, in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
