The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is Open May 4th to August 31st for the 2024 season.
Accepted Household Hazardous Waste Material
- Paints: All Types of Paint, Stains, Varnish, Spray Paint, Etc.
- Solvents: Turpentine, Disinfectants, Household Cleaners, Bleach, Oven and Drain Cleaners, Furniture Stripper, Ammonia Etc.
- Herbicides, Pesticides and Insecticides, Weed Killers Etc.
- Pool Cleaners and Chemicals
- Propane Tanks
- Automotive Fluids: Used Oil, Brake Fluid, Gasoline, Anti-Freeze, Etc.
- Oil Filters and Oil Containers (empty or full)
- Batteries: Small Standard, Button, Small Tool, Car, and Boat Batteries
- Aerosols
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs and Tubes (all except PCB Ballasts)
- Non-refillable pressurized containers: Acetylene, Refrigerant, Propane, Helium, and CO2 cylinders
- Pharmaceuticals/Medication (No needles)
- Mercury Bulb Thermostats and Switches
All of the above products must be in their original containers and disposed of safely. Household hazardous waste should not be thrown in the garbage or poured down sewers and drains.

HHW Depot is open from Saturday May 3, 2025 to Saturday August 30, 2025.

- Tuesday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Wednesday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
This depot can be used free of charge by residents of the following municipalities: Addington Highlands Township, Town of Arnprior, Admaston Bromley Township, Horton Township, Greater Madawaska Township, McNab Braeside Township, and the Town of Renfrew.
The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is located at the Renfrew Landfill Site at 376 Bruce Street, Renfrew
